Other than water supply and process plants, gate valves are also used in wastewater plants. The primary function of gate valves is to deliver the function of a shut-off valve, however, they are also great for regulating fluid flow.
There are many varieties available for gate valves as they come in different designs and seat features such as a metal seated gate valve. Gate valves come in really handy when isolation services are needed for a system for repair, maintenance or any section of the pipeline system does not need fluid flow.

Ball Valves

Another valve that is found in many wastewater treatment plants are ball valves. Just like butterfly valves, these are quarter-turn motion operating valves that utilise rotating ported spheres inside the pipe to prevent or allow flow of fluid.
A ball valve not just helps in regulating flow of the fluid but also controls pressure within the system. They shut the flow of fluid from a compressed air line to a high-pressure hydraulic system. These valves are designed to be easy-to-operate and leak-proof.
Ball valves need only a 90-degree turn to close or open the valve.
While there are many other standard type valves used in wastewater treatment plants, there are also a set of specialised valves fitted to carry out certain specific operations. Sludge Treatment Solutions

Sludge is a byproduct that is found in wastewater treatment plants. After the treatment of wastewater, the residue that remains is referred to as sludge. Sludge is either in solid, semi-solid or slurry form.
Sludge is generally classified as primary and secondary sludge. The disposal of sludge cannot be done just like that as it can be toxic for the environment and human life. This is why sludge needs to be treated appropriately before being disposed of or recovered.
